Doulas facilitate informed decision making and self-advocacy through nonmedical emotional and physical support, childbirth education and preparation, and continuity of care throughout pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum.
In addition to my health coach training, I support expectants and those trying to conceive as a full-spectrum doula. Full-spectrum doula support encompasses the entire journey to parenthood, from fertility and conception through childbirth and postpartum, as well as pregnancy and infant loss (abortion, miscarriage, stillbirth), surrogacy, and adoption.
Whether you are going the assisted route or want to take an holistic approach to fertility, I hold non-judgmental space to help you sort out your options and process the experience.
Support is offered virtually and in person in Hawaii.
The investment to work with me is $250 a month for two sessions a month, beginning with a menstrual cycle analysis. An additional investment of $1,000 for labor support includes two childbirth preparation sessions to establish birth preferences and learn comfort measures, continuous support via email and text, on-call labor support for weeks 36-41, and one in-home postpartum visit.
Enrolling in a childbirth education course is a requirement of booking labor support. I recommend the online courses Pleasurable Birth Essentials, Birthing Better, or Hypnobirthing (in-person on Oahu).
Add-ons such as massage, movement, and additional sessions are available.
To get started, book a menstrual cycle analysis. If you have any questions, give Me a call at 347-927-2855.
Holistic Well Woman Care
Pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum takes a huge toll on a woman’s body, no matter your age, fertility status, or level of health.
I highly recommend women over 35 look into the supplements offered by Fairhaven Health, specifically the FH PRO Combo Pack and FH PRO Omega-3. FH Pro is formulated for women with PCOS and women using ART in mind. In addition to the recommended vitamins and minerals needed for a healthy mind and body, FH Pro also contains myo-inositol with D-chiro-inositol, a proven ovarian helper along with antoxidants to support a healthy metabolism and balanced hormones. Always consult with your primary healthcare provider about the use supplements before taking them.
If you are going through IVF treatments, studies have shown that Letrozole is more effective for women with PCOS than Clomid. Please discuss your options with your IVF specialist.
A critical component of optimal fertility in women are self-care practices that promote hormone balance, pelvic health, relaxation, pleasure, and joy. In addition to medical support, allied and complementary therapies suchas as massage, acupuncture, chiropractic, and holistic pelvic care are highly recommended. You don’t have to do everything, but if these resources are available to you, they may be of benefit to you.
Acupuncture is a great complement to ART, and you can read more about that in Making Babies: A Proven 3-Month Program for Maximum Fertility.
A pelvic health physical therapist (look for one that has this designation), or a practitioner who specializes in holistic pelvic care can work with you to strengthen your pelvic floor, which is beneficial for conception through postpartum. If you do not have access to a practitioner in your area, the MUTU system offers an online course for pelvic floor strengthening and support.
Spending time with loved ones, having pleasureable and orgasmic sex, and activities that enhance your creativity are also recommended.
